HVISK ATELIER is a place to be creative - and to get inspired. We at HVISK meet a lot of artists on social media and in our ATELIER we ask them to interpret our collections and express them through their art. Their interpretations inspire us to look at our collections and what we do in a different way - and hopefully they inspire you too. For our next ATELIER collaboration we teamed up with the Australian and Melbourne based girl, Kate Carnegie. We had a chat with her about her work and the photo series she did for us.
HVISK: WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?
KATE: I’ve spent the last decade working between a few different disciplines to be honest! I have a BA in Fashion Design and then went on to further my studies at Central St. Martins in Fine Art. Prior to Covid-19 I spent the last 8 years living in NYC, working on my Art and as a Freelance Fashion Director. I am now about to launch a lifestyle brand in the next month - @maat_world.
HVISK: WHAT IS YOUR ART MEDIUM?
KATE: Painting - although I have been experimenting recently with sculpture.
HVISK: WHAT DOES HVISK MEAN TO YOU?
KATE: Integrity most of all. I think the commitment to being a VEGAN brand, and the ability to produce ranges in a sustainable way says a lot about core values. I think HVISK exudes a distinct sense of style; one that is playful, dynamic and unique.
HVISK: WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION FOR THE ARTWORK?
KATE: I wanted to create something that directly referenced the collection name “MUSEUM”. I was inspired by the great masters of our time; whose work continues to influence Art, Design and Architecture principles today.
